Customizable weeks options

Some customers might want only a few weeks of a share. Or they may want to join your CSA, but will be gone multiple weeks over the course of the share.

There are a few ways that you could make a very flexible share in GrownBy. And please let us know if you come up with an idea that would work even better for you. Here are some ideas:
  1. Using Farm Credit: The farm would have customers buy farm credit, perhaps suggesting a few standard amounts. For example, "$300 in farm credit can cover ten weeks of harvest boxes." Then, you'd make a standard product that is the week's CSA share. The customer would buy a CSA share on the weeks that they want one and not buy them when they don't. PROS: You get the farm credit payment upfront. This is very flexible for the customer and they could use their farm credit on something else in your store. CONS: The customer needs to remember to buy a share each week. (We're still working on developing a system where customers can purchase for weeks in the future.)
  2. Regular share with weeks canceled: The customer would tell the farmer which weeks they want to not have shares. Then the farmer would sign the customer up for a seasonal share, immediately cancel their invoice, and then using the customer's page under subscriptions (screenshot below), cancel the weeks when the customer won't be receiving a share. Then make a custom invoice (you may charge a slightly higher price) for the price of the weeks the customer will be getting a share. PROS: This customer now is associated with the share and shows up as a shareholder. They get the CSA-style notifications. Customer can see their distribution calendar in their GrownBy dashboard. Farmer gets the set amount of money and doesn't need to work that the customer will forget to order. CONS: This takes a bit more administrative time. It isn't quite as flexible for the customer.
  3.  Unlimited Vacation Weeks: You could offer unlimited vacation weeks to cover the weeks when customers are out of town. This option might be especially helpful for a farm that offers other standard products in their shop so that it's easy for the customer to use the farm credit. PROS: Very easy to set up. Farmer gets the price of the full share. CONS: Not as helpful for the customer.
