How to add a free share for a customer in 3.0

A farm may have donated or free shares, perhaps for site coordinators or community members. To enter these shares into GrownBy, following these steps:
  1. Add the customer. If this customer already exists on your customer page, you don’t need to add them to GrownBy. If the customer does not already have a GrownBy account, the customer will receive a welcome email and an email to reset their password. 
  2. Subscribe the customer to the intended share. To do this, go to the customer tab, choose the customer you want to subscribe, and scroll down to "New Subscription." 
    1. Make sure that they're subscribed on the right day and at the correct location, if applicable.
    2. Choose pay-in-full as their payment schedule and
    3. Choose offline payments. If you're adding a new customer they won't have a credit card saved in GrownBy, but if you're adding a share for an existing customer who has bought from you in the past, they may have a card saved. 
    4. At this point, the customer will receive an email thanking them for their order AND an email with a link to pay for their share.
  3. Void this invoice. Once this order is successfully placed, return to their customer detail page and find the associated invoice. Click on the three dots in the "action" column and choose "void." This will keep the subscription intact, but ensure that the invoice is not outstanding.
    1. We strongly recommend that you send an email or message to the customer letting them know that they're subscribed and that their share is free. Encourage them to log in to change their address and update their profile information. You can share this link for a short video to them to help them get acquainted with the customer options.
