Shoppers can purchase through GrownBy in real time. You might use this feature at your farmer’s markets, PYO locations, farm stores (either with staff or self-serve), or for add on items that you might add to a CSA distribution (like honey or extra veggies). 

How to set up same-day sales:

• Create a location that is where your sales happen. Likely a farm store, a farmers market, or a PYO location.
  

• Create a schedule. 
  

• If you also offer pre-boxed orders for pick up at a location–for instance, you offer pre-boxed order for customers at a farmers market, but also offer same-day sales at that same market–you will want two different schedules so that you can box up the order beforehand. For example, you might have “Downtown Farmers Market Saturday - Pre Order” and “Downtown Farmers Market Saturday - Same Day.” Then you can set an order cut-off that is correct for each schedule.

• Add or Associate products. 

• If you are adding new products, create those products. The product must be available for the day of the distribution you've scheduled.

• If you’re associating current products with this same-day option, go into each product and associate the new schedule.

• Notes:

• Customers will need to make an account in order to use GrownBy. You can add customers to GrownBy if you have their email address (for instance if you have a list of frequent customers at your market). You may want to communicate this prior to the moment when they’re standing at your stall, by email or on your website, or via signage at a farmers market stall or PYO parking area. However, we encourage you to allow customers to create their own accounts since there will be less issue with signing them up with the wrong credential. And they are more likely to use their phone number (which we recommend for greater security and convenience).

• You may want to encourage customers who are placing many small orders to sign up for farm credit from your farm. That way, they can buy a single bunch of carrots or dozen eggs without paying the $.30 Stripe transaction fee. 
  

• If you required all customers at a farm stand/self-serve farm store to use GrownBy to check out, this could help manage inventory, especially for less-perishable items like meat. Customers could still use cash or checks to check out (just allow offline payments).
